Is the Raspberry Pi 2 compatible?
The existing software for the Raspberry Pi is still compatible with the Raspberry Pi 2 and any Python programs that you have written will still work.
The original Pi used a ARMv6 processor chip but the latest model users the Cortext-A7 architecture. This means that the Raspberry Pi 2 can now run a wide range of operating systems including Android and Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi 2. This is a huge step forward as this was one of the slightly limiting factors of the Raspberry Pi.
The Raspberry Pi 2 uses a micro SD card which means you can’t just plug in your existing SD card which is a larger SD card. The GPIO pins are 100% compatible with the previous Model B+ which means that any interfacing with the outside world will still work.
